Born in Selargius, ELENA LEDDA comes from a land, Sardinia, which is very prodigal of great interpreters and excellent musicians, capable of consistently promoting the island's cultural heritage without renouncing to reinvigorate it with contemporary sounds. LEDDA is no exception and with this Maremannu undoubtedly stands as the island artist who at this time best represents the combination of ancient and modern. The new project, curated and coordinated by MAURO PALMAS (in artistic partnership with the LEDDA since the days of the Suonofficina and Sonos ensembles), and put into production in Germany under the careful production of Friedemann Witecka, achieves a perfect balance between traditional pieces rearranged and world sounds.
ELENA LEDDA's voice, not only versatile and expressive, but also powerful and aggressive when needed, rises with wisdom and sensitivity on this sound material, arousing intense emotions in the listener. Numerous texts written from scratch by MICHELE PIO LEDDA, ​​who with ability and inventiveness manages to tell today by putting verses on the page at the same time full of feeling and everyday life.
It is a lively and exuberant lyrical base which, together with the intense religiosity of the litanies of the Rosary and the heartfelt spirituality of Pregadoria, allow LEDDA's vocality to express itself creatively at its best, acting in symbiosis with the words rather than "against". Free from stale expressive modules and manner constraints, the LEDDA can thus produce an engaging performance capable of showcasing not only her talent (which is considerable), but also the experience gained in the most diverse contexts throughout her career . Colourings, nuances and vocal inflections follow one another relentlessly, in a kaleidoscope of situations that have the ability to capture the listener and project him into an indefinite, distant and mysterious space, while continuing to make him feel in the intimacy of his home.
