The area defined as "of the Four Provinces" is an area of ​​homogeneous culture administratively divided into four provinces in four different regions: Alessandria (Piedmont), Genoa (Liguria), Pavia (Lombardy), Piacenza (Emilia-Romagna). valleys and mountains, dotted with small towns, historically linked by roads and paths which, crossing the Apennines, connected the Po plain to the Ligurian coast. Over time, one of the most interesting cultural phenomena of northern Italy has flourished along these routes and their branches: music, dances, songs, legends and rites that combine to form a repertoire that is rare in terms of quality and quantity. RACCONTI A COLORI" consists of four suites that narrate and evoke, through traditional songs and compositions, this cultural environment where the " SUONATORI DELLE QUATTRO PROVINCE grew up and of which they are the interpreters today.
"I SUONATORI DELLE QUATTRO PROVINCE " are a quartet of musicians from different experiences, from individual stories that led them to unite in a musical project, rooted in the traditional repertoire, of songs and music proposed in this album, in the two that have preceded and in the numerous concerts that the group holds in Italy and in Europe (France, Switzerland, Germany, Spain).
With RACCONTI A COLORI the group wanted to continue on the path taken in the previous productions by grafting a new sound research onto traditional pieces that mixes the typical sounds of the popular instruments used with sampled sounds and keyboards. The result, in our opinion (biased, of course) is very successful.
Thanks to a happy choice of the traditional material presented here, concentrated on some of the most beautiful melodies of the Quattro Province are
